Oyama Lake is situated just 27 km north of Kelowna and 19 km south
of Vernon, BC, Canada and just 15 km from Highway 97 east of the town of
Oyama.
It is a beautiful high-elevation lake above the Okanagan Valley with an
irregular shoreline and 27 islands. It covers more than 800 acres. The
many sunken islands, weed beds and abundant feed provide ideal fishing
conditions for the troll or fly fisherman.
You may also observe the osprey or blue herons fishing or see the loons
performing their water dance and hear their enchanting call.
Oyama Lake is the larger of 2 lakes. Streak Lake is accessible from Oyama
by a natural channel which makes it a boater's paradise.
There are 4 other lakes to fish just a short drive away. At an elevation
of 4,500 feet, cool water and many hatches produce fat and sassy rainbows.
It is also a winter paradise for snowmobiling, ice fishing and winter sports.
